The launch of Amazon's Kindle, the latest and by far most ambitious realisation of the electronic book concept has once again rekindled (excuse the pun!) the debate about the merits of print. It's time to put this to bed once and for all. Electronic books will open up access to the world's vast collections of words on paper in a way that paper itself could never achieve. For every ebook evangelist there have been plenty of ebook opponents. My own colleague, Stan Beer is no fan. "We're not talking about an iPod, iPhone, Wii, PS3 or even an Xbox 360.
