Library announces writing contest

The Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation Guild announces its Second Annual The Guilded Leaf Writing Contest for all Carmel and Clay Township residents in grades 9--12.
Entry forms can be found online at www.carmel.lib.in.us/ya/yamain.cfm, or at the young adult desk of the library.
The writing contest is part of this year's The Guilded Leaf Book & Author Luncheon, which will take place on Thursday, October 30 at the Ritz Charles. The winner will receive two tickets to the event, as well as a $100 gift card and certificate acknowledging his or her achievement.
Entries can be in the form of a short story or an essay. The theme should be library related -- fiction or non-fiction. Entries should not exceed 1,500 words. Entry deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, August 11. All entries will be exhibited at the library and judged by a panel of library staff and Foundation Guild members. The winner will be announced at the library's Back to School Night in September.
