What is Fairfood?
Fairfood is a non-profit campaign and lobby organisation that incites and enables consumers to eat and drink sustainable products. These are products whose production and trade contribute to the eradication of hunger and poverty in developing countries, and to the sustainability of production chains. In short: eat fair, beat hunger.
Communications
The Communications Department's main responsibility is to inform consumers, companies and politicians. The department is directed by the Manager Communications. The department is responsible for six projects: Public Relations, Advertising, Publicity Stunt, Copywriting, Online Media and Website. The projects are led by six paid project leaders, each with the help of two to four unpaid Project Assistants.
What are the responsibilities of the Project Leader Copywriting?
The Project Leader Copywriting is responsible for texts, translations, newsletters and the communication with Fairfood's supporters and target groups in general. He/she is also responsible for the development of the project in cooperation with the Manager Communications. Furthermore, the Project Leader Copywriting contributes to the development of the department's policy.
Your tasks are among others:
* Writing texts. Written texts need to be clear, transparent and need to be attributed to Fairfood's target group(s). * Formulating complex subjects in an understandable manner. * Writing in a journalistic manner and being aware of the role of the Communications Department while doing that. * Final editing of internal and external texts. * Coordinating all translation activities and therefore building and leading a team of external translators. * Being responsible for the Fairfood newsletter's content, improving the concept and the increase of new newsletter subscribers. * Working together closely with (among others) the Project Leaders PR and Website. * Directing project assistants and supporters. * Responsible for the targets, quality, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and vision of the project. * Tracking developments in the field of copywriting and translating these to concepts and possibilities relevant to Fairfood.
In order to execute this position successfully you need to have excellent writing skills. Not only in the technical sense (orthography, grammar and style) but also in the sense of being able to write clearly, accessibly and (if required) convincing. Experience in written journalism is preferable.

Qualifications
* Minimal higher education (HBO) working- and thinking level * Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch as well as English, and preferably in a third language * Able to work well both independently and within a team * Affinity with Fairfood's goals * Some experience with project management
· Knowledge of development aid and/or the food and beverage industry is an asset
