Würth Group Acquires New Hardware Unit

The Würth Group, the parent company of several major cabinet hardware manufacturers, has formally merged its Grass and Mepla-Alfit units, and announced the takeover of the Hetal Works. The three enterprises develop and manufacture hardware and fittings systems for the cabinet and furniture industries in more than 55 countries.

The company also announced the execution of a “product range optimization” at Grass and Mepla-Alfit, with the resulting product assortment “completely geared towards the Grass brand over the course of the coming year.”

The Hetal Works, specialists in corner cabinet fittings, flap fittings, single-axis hinges and cabinet suspension systems, will remain an autonomous company. However, the company’s product line will be expanded and rebranded under the Grass name, corporate officials said. The products will be marketed through the Grass Group sales division, whose U.S. headquarters is located in Kernersville, NC, officials added.

“The bundling of the sales and marketing activities will strengthen the individual divisions and will be best able to exploit synergies such as the global sales network,” Würth Group officials said.

“The newly-created Grass product portfolio will, above all, benefit worldwide customers and partners,” they added. “The broad product range, innovative fittings systems, high-production quality and numerous services offer one of the the very best packages in the industry.”
